Tancredi is the protagonist of the project, with Marcello Mastroianni used as the visual reference for his character. He is portrayed as devoted and honorable, yet falsely accused of betrayal by his enemies. Purple was chosen as his primary color to represent restraint, endurance, and his commitment to truth. His sword serves as his main weapon, while Sicilian patterns are incorporated into his design as a defining visual characteristic, symbolizing his faith and cultural identity.
Amenaide is the female protagonist of the project, with Monica Bellucci used as the visual reference for her character. She is portrayed as graceful and beautiful, while also defined by a strong and determined spirit. Gold and black were chosen as her primary colors, expressing both her elegance and the burden of fate she carries. Her weapon is a musket, and her visual pattern is drawn from a noble motif from ancient Sicily, reinforcing her dignity and historical identity.
Argirio is the ruler of the city. He is portrayed as cruel and cold-blooded, yet still guided by a strict sense of principle. The character was developed with the image of an older actor between the ages of 45 and 65 in mind, using Sergio Castellitto as the primary reference. To express his personality, darker tones and worn armor were used as key visual elements. He shares the same pattern as Amenaide, reflecting their family connection as father and daughter. His weapon is a scepter, symbolizing his nobility, authority, and rank.
Orbazzano is Tancredi’s main rival and is portrayed as an intelligent villain who constantly pushes him toward a fatal outcome. His design uses dark, worn armor to reflect his harsh and threatening personality. A stealth-inspired pattern is integrated into the armor, and his weapon is a spear, emphasizing aggression and precision. Claudio Santamaria was used as the visual reference for this character. The goal in creating Orbazzano was to give him a striking presence that clearly positions him as the direct opposite of Tancredi.
